2020 and 2021 have been challenging years for our health, our economy, and our democracy. Despite the challenges, I have a lot to be thankful for.
- Three different vaccines were developed and released to protect us from the COVID-19 virus.
- My son recovered from the COVID-19 virus.
- My family and I received the life saving COVID-19 vaccine and remain healthy.
- The COVID-19 vaccine for school-age children will soon be available.
- Schools have resumed in-person classes.
- Our federal government sent us a couple of stimulus checks to help us during lock-downs.
- Our economy is bouncing back.
- Computer and Internet Help stayed open to remotely provide your computer needs during the pandemic.
- Upgrades to our infrastructure are coming to improve roads, bridges, internet services and provide much needed jobs.
- The war in Afghanistan ended, and over 100,000 people were evacuated.
- Zoom provided access to training, meetings and allowed visual contact with friends and family.
- After being closed for 20 months, the Canada-USA border is scheduled to reopen in November 2021.
- We have been spared from hurricanes and floods in Southwest Florida this year.
My prayers for the following year include getting more vaccines to Americans and world populations to prevent hospitalizations, deaths, and mutations of the virus. Once this virus is under control, our lives can take on a ‘new normal.’ My new normal may include Zoom, increased travel, better high-speed internet, students back in school safely, haircuts, eating out and hugs from Roger and my family.
