Attachments in e-mails may contain harmful, malicious software or viruses that could infect your computer! If the e-mail is from someone you do not know, or the message entices you to open the attachment or link to a website, or the email with the attachment is FWD (forwarded), DO NOT CLICK.
It only takes a few seconds to infect your computer after opening an infected attachment. Once the virus is silently in your computer, the scammer could have access to all the personal information that you have stored on it.
To be safe, only open e-mails from people you know and attachments that you are sure they personally created – e.g., a photo taken and sent from their smart phone, their Holiday letter, a scanned recipe, etc.
If you have Emsisoft anti-malware installed, your e-mail attachments are automatically scanned for malware, and quarantined if they contain malware infections.
I am committed to protect your computers at an affordable price. Thank you for trusting me to keep your computers healthy. Contact us at 239-567-0104 when it is time to renew your protection software, or if you need computer and internet help. Be well.
