Here’s what I always tell them: it was not your fault.

You were raised to be trusting and kind. To take people at their word. That’s not a flaw — it’s a good quality. But scammers have figured out how to use it against you. They don’t hack computers. They hack people. They use fear, greed, and urgency to get you to act before you think.

The good news? Scams follow patterns. And once you learn to recognize those patterns, they lose their power over you.
