February reminds us that some of our past President’s and leaders - George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King - had profound effects on what our country is today --- independent, free and accepting of diversity --- based on the premise that “all men are created equal’.
The greatest parts of our Constitutional democracy is the ability of all citizens older that 18 years of age is the ability to have a voice and vote to elect our government representation, local and federal, and for our votes to be fairly counted.
I must admit that with the changes being made to state election laws in many states, I am concerned that the new laws may change both our ability to vote and the certainty that our votes will not be overturned.
Be sure to exercise your right to vote in 2022. Check that you are still registered to vote (by mail if that is your need and desire). You and your vote matter to our Constitutional democracy.
